Wishcasting Wednesday!!!!

How do you wish to be brave?!

This really touched me because I just recently took an online course with Brave Girls Camp and so I though't I'd share some of those details:

I started this journey not knowing at all what to expect and a bit nervous!  I have to say that I did feel at the begining that I wasn't so sure I should be in the class for two reasons!  My first reason - maybe it was an excuse - There are so many women out there that have had terrible things happen to them, or are going through hard times right now and here I was not really having anything awful have happened - I started to feel like this wasn't for me!  Then someone posted a comment that we need to remember that we each have our own story - bad OR good!  I needed that!  Once I realized that I didn't have to have a sad story to share it made it easier, I still have had tough things happen including my Grandfather pass away unexpectedly right before Christmas - almost 2 years to the date that my uncle passed away from cancer.  I realized these are all things I could learn from and could grow from these experiences and these are my hard times.  I will be able to take what I have learned with me into the future for any struggles I might have to go through and this class has made me be able to do that!

My second "reason" I wasn't so sure about htis class is that I am NOT crafty at all!  I am amazed by all of the amazing things the women out there in this class and the crafting world can do!  I truely admire them and wish I could have that ability - this is just something I wasn't born with.  I have to try very hard to be crafty!  However, through the class I was able to find a bit of my inner craftiness and was very pleased with how my projects turned out!  I learned to be TRUE to myself with the projects and go with what felt right for me and what inspired me - not what others were doing - that wouldn't help me in the process!

I feel have become more patient with myself which in turn has led me to be more patient with others around me and to be more understanding.  I have learned to take a step back and try to see all sides of the story and know that at anytime the person we are talking with might be going through a struggle that we don't even know about - so we need to be gentle with ourselves and with others we meet!

Here is one of the Daily Truths I received during this workshop & I got it the day after I wrote this post - perfect timing!!!!!

DEAR UNIQUE GIRL:

EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT JOURNEY.......SO DIFFERENT IN FACT, THAT NEW LESSONS CAN BE LEARNED EVERY SINGLE DAY FROM EACH OTHER'S JOURNEYS.  YOUR FRIEND'S JOURNEYS ARE DIFFERENT FROM YOURS, YOUR CHILDREN'S ARE DIFFERNT TOO......YOUR PARENTS ALSO WENT ON AN ENTIRE DIFFERNT JOURNEY THAN THE ONE THAT IS MEANT FOR YOU.

THAT IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT NOT TO COMOPARE, CRITICIZE OR COMPLAIN.  WE OFTEN HAVE THE TENDENCY TO COMPARE THE WORST OF WHAT WE ARE LIVING THROUGH WITH THE BEST OF WHAT OTHERS ARE ENJOYING.  EVERYONE HAS THE EXACT PATH, WITH THE EXACT BATTLES AND THE EXACT JOYS THAT ARE MEANT FOR THEM.  WE ALL LEARN IN DIFFERNT WAYS.....AND WE CAN ALL LEARN SO MUCH FROM EACH OTHER TOO.

SO....LIVE YOUR LIFE.  MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR LIFE...AND WHENEVER YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO MEET ANOTHER FELLOW TRAVELER ALONG THE ROAD OF LIFE...LEND A HELPING HAND WHENVER YOU CAN...AN ENCOURAGING SMILE OR A KIND WORD OR TWO.  BE HAPPY WHEN GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO OTHERS AND SHOW COMPASSION WHEN DIFFICULT THINGS COME ALONG...REMIND THOSE YOU KNOW THAT ALL OF IT IS GOOD...ALL OF IT.

Wishcasting Wednesday.

This weeks Wishcasting Wednesday is: How do you wish to sparkle!

When I heard the word sparkle the first thing I think of is the snow at night when the moon shines upon the clean white snow and how it sparkles - each snowflake sparkles and is unique and different and as you move you see a new snowflake sparkle - I think that's how each one of us is - we all sparkle in our own way - sometimes it takes longer to see someones sparkle than another - but we can each sparkle - and we are each unique and are right where we are meant to be!

I love the word sparkle and think we each have our own way to sparkle - some in jobs, some in families, some in hobbies, sports or activities!  This made me start to think how do I want to sparkle?!  I want to be that sparkly person that people are drawn to, the one that makes a difference!

I loved reading all the other blogs out there and reading how others want to sparkle!  I wish that for each of you!!!!!

Women

I recieved this email from a friend and thought it was well worth sharing!!!!!!

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men.....

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,

but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry..

They cry when they are happy

and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in..

They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer

when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel

and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about

a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member,

yet they are strong when they

think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss

can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you

to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what

makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have compassion and ideas.

They give moral support to their

family and friends.

Women have vital things to say

and everything to give..

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

A Tribute To Family

© Michelle A. Moran
I don't know when it started,
Or how it all began.
But God created families,
As only our Lord can.
He was teaching what it means,
To love, honor, and obey.
He wanted a strong bond,
That we don't see too much today.
He wanted someone to hold us,
And show respect for others.
He wanted someone who'd be gentle,
And so he created mothers.
He wanted someone strong,
A support filled with love.
And so he created fathers,
Sent from heaven up above.
Brothers and sisters came next,
With that, an instant friend.
Someone to look up to,
Someone on who to depend.
When he put them all together,
He was amazed at what he'd done.
He had created a family,
Mother, father, daughter, son.
But look at the family,
Created by only two.
How many we've become,
And all because of you.
We have a lot to be thankful for,
The memories through the years.
The many times together,
Full of laughter, full of tears.
I don't know where we'd be today,
If it weren't for the two of you.
To show us strength, support, and love,
Like only the two of you can do

Feeling Blessed

This poems sums up how I feel after the wonderful weekend I just had!!

Family

© Antony Smith

Family is,
heaven sent from our father above,
bonded by the power of love.
No matter what family has each others back,
when push comes to shove.

Family is,
understanding, never demanding,
all for one and one for all,
I will never leave you alone standing.

Family is,
one in itself, my love is your love,
your pain is my pain, my wealth is your wealth,
I promise to never leave you by yourself.

Family is,
the strongest team, the strongest unit;
if love could be visualized,
family would be the blue print.

Family is,
forgiveness and patience,
it's sweeter than the sweetest fragrance,
the power of family is a reflection of Gods compassion and magnificence.

Family is,
never turning our back, and never shames,
lend my helping hand and not a finger pointing the blame.

No matter what a family bond can never be broken,
even through a nuclear explosion,
if one of us lives we all live.
Forever to eternity, we are family,
my father, my mother, my sisters and me.

A Conversation With God For Women

A Conversation With God For Women by Marcia Ford

I was very drawn to this book because of the title and the beautiful cover!  I was impressed with the heavy duty, glossy cover and nice thick pages!

I thought the layout of this book was very nice and appreciated the nice Contents Pages and how it was easy to navigate through.  If you are looking for answers towards something specific you can go to that specific section in the book insead of trying to read through looking for the answer!  I think this is a book that I will keep around for a good refernce tool and a book you can go back to at anytime with any questions.  I thought there were some nice scripture passages as well.  I have to say I didn't read this book like a typical book from front to back - I would pick it up and page through it until I found a question I had that related to my life at that time - that's something I did enjoy about the book!

I didn't care so much for how the answers were coming from God and/or Jesus.  It was quite bothersome to me - I tried to not be bothered by that part but it was a bit off to me.  I think there could have been a better way for this to be accomplished - none of us know how God/Jesus would answer these questions.

~ I received this book free from Thomas Nelsons Booksneeze propgram through their book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. ~

Fearless Friday!

Hang with this song - it has a great message once you get into it!

HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY!!!

I'm looking over a four leaf clover
That I overlooked before
One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain,
Third is the roses that grow in the lane.
No need explaining the one remaining
Is somebody I adore.
I'm looking over a four leaf clover
That I overlooked before.

Happy St Patricks Day!!!

MAGIC POTION!!!!!!!!

Try this out on a St Patrick's Day gathering. And see how your friends enjoy this.

Ask an adult to get you some of yellow as well as blue food colorings.

Preserve them in separate containers beforehand.

Take two clear cups of water, and a larger empty crystal glass.

Now serve one of your friends with a drop of yellow food coloring, and one empty cup.

Then it's time to make a yellow solution with drinking water by stirring the mixture thoroughly.

Now ask another to prepare a blue color solution the same way. When both are ready it's your turn.

Come forward with a large empty glass that can hold contents of both the glass.

Then empty the two filled glasses into yours. And see the magic.

Don't forget to add sugar before serving them to your friends. A great toast for the Day

I have a confession!

So I admit it....I am addicted to coffee!  That's the first step right - admitting it!  I knew I LOVED coffee - but didn't realize how much I NEED it until the other day!  Now I say coffee - but what I really mean is - French Vanilla Latte's from LuLu Beans in Willmar - or an Irish Cream Latte from all other misc coffee shops - because nobody can make my french vanilla latte right except LuLu Beans!

Okay so i was out showing houses last week to a Mom, her daughter and the daughters boyfriend.  We looked at 2 houses and they decided to go back to the first house for a second look with her Dad who could be there in 5 minutes.  We get back to the first house and the daughter walks in this time holding a cup from LuLu Beans - yes that's right I know what cup comes from what coffee shop!  Once I saw the cup I couldn't stop thinking about a latte!  I don't think I heard one word that any of them said after I saw the cup - all I could think was I need a latte!!!!!!!!!  As soon as we left I had to go get one!  I know they are expensive and I try hard not to buy them all the time and that day I had made my own at work in the morning but that just wasn't enough that day - I had to have one!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is called a problem!

Gas Saving Tips!

I found these tips online and thought we could all use a few gas saving tips:

Skip the Drive-Thru: sitting in a drive-thru line for food, an ATM or whatever is a good way to burn gas. Just park and walk in. Not only will you save gas - you'll also burn a few calories!

Park Further Away: circling and maneuvering parking lots while trying to find the closest spot to the store is also a good way to waste gas. Just park further away and walk and you'll avoid the unnecessary circling.

Hang Up and Drive: talking on the cell can actually make you less aware of how you're driving. Try to focus on not breaking those gas-saving rules instead of jabbering away on the phone.

Check the Traffic Reports: taking a minute to check these before you head out may save you from sitting in traffic and wasting gas on your way to your destination.

Streamline Your Vehicle: things like bike racks, car top carriers and flags take away from how aerodynamic your car is on its own. Keep the add-ons to a minimum and reduce wind resistance and gas consumption.

Don't Lane Hop: switching lanes often means that you're accelerating and braking more often. Try keeping your lane hopping to a minimum

Tighten that Gas Cap: A loose gas cap makes it easy for gas to evaporate from your car. Protect those precious gallons, by turning your cap until you hear it click three times.
Shop at Home: Free shipping deals are easy to come by these days. Find what you need online, and let your car spend more time in the driveway.
Ditch the Attitude: Check your bad day at the car door. When you're under the influence of a bad mood you're likely drive faster and brake harder than you normally would
Park in the Shade: A cooler car means less need for air conditioning and less gas evaporating from your tank. To save even more, invest in a shade for your windshield and tinting for the rest of your windows

Just a quick story....

So i get out of the shower this morning only to find my dog & my mothers dog has tipped over a box of packing peanuts and as soon as I opened the bathroom door there they both stood - licking their lips!  Yup that's right they were both eating packing peanuts!  Not sure why?!  You wouldn't think they would taste good - but they both had eaten some!  I am pretty sure Zoey ( my papillion/shit-zu) tipped over the box because the cocker is way too scared of everything to do something like that!  I wish I could have snapped a picture - but there I stood in my towel picking up packing peanuts!!!   This is what happens to dogs when they get sick of winter!!!

One Month To Live

What if you only had one month, only 30 days to live!  That's the idea behind this book!  It's about what would you do differently, how would you act, what would change!

This book is a nice and easy read, it has a nice format that is broken down into four sections; Live Passionately - living each day as if it's your last.  Love Completely - showing others love that transcends and transforms.  Learn Humbly - growing through your pain and problems.  Leave Boldly - creating a legacy that will impact generations!  Each chapter is 1 day and each chapter has at least one bible passage that relates to the chapter, it's meant to be read for 30 days, but I couldn't only read one chapter at a time - I had to read several every evening!  It is well laid out and has great content.  I liked that the authors had their staff partake in this 30 day event as well so it is more authentic I felt also.  It has definitely made me take time to slow down and really think about what and who matters in life!

I also liked that the book offers a website to go along with it.  The website is also full of great information an daily readings!  I can see myself re-reading this book and will definitely recommend this book to anyone!!!!!

I have received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. This in no way has affected my review.
